# Project Conventions

## Stack
- TypeScript strict mode
- Node.js 20+
- pnpm for package management

## Code Style
- Use functional patterns over classes
- Prefer named exports
- Always type function parameters and return values
- Use template literals over string concatenation

## Testing
- Write tests for all new features
- Use vitest for unit tests
- Minimum 80% coverage for new code
- Test file naming: *.test.ts

## Git
- Small, atomic commits
- Imperative mood: "Add feature" not "Added feature"
- Branch naming: feature/, fix/, refactor/

## Important
- Never commit secrets or .env files
- Run lint + typecheck before finishing
- Prefer existing patterns in the codebase

# ML Project Conventions

## Stack
- Python 3.11+
- uv for dependency management
- PyTorch for training
- pandas/polars for data

## Code Style
- Type hints on all functions
- Docstrings on public functions (Google style)
- Use pathlib over os.path
- f-strings over format()

## Data
- Never commit data files
- Document data schemas in docs/
- Use DVC for data versioning

## Experiments
- Log all experiments with wandb
- Reproducible seeds in config
- Save model checkpoints to artifacts/

## Testing
- pytest for all tests
- Test data transforms separately
- Mock external API calls
